Lampard said this is because he will return to Stamford Bridge in the future.

The Blues are set to announce former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino as their new permanent boss.

Lampard has overseen 10 games in his capacity as the interim manager of the club and was able to win just one. The Blues were thrashed 4-1 by Manchester United in their most recent outing.

Addressing the press on Friday ahead of Sunday’s end of Premier League season matches, Lampard said,

“I don’t want this to sound corny, but I don’t feel like it is goodbye.

“Normally when you leave a club you don’t have a hurrah as a manager. You are in one day, out the next, and that’s fine.”
