Nigerian Army Neutralizes Boko Haram Commander, Arrests Suspects, and Recovers Weapons in Borno and Surrounding Areas

Nigerian Army troops have neutralized a notorious Boko Haram commander, Abu Rijab, along with other terrorists in an operation in Bula Daloye, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State. The Army reported this on its official X handle.

The operation also led to the surrender of several terrorists and their families due to the sustained pressure on their hideouts.

The troops arrested multiple suspects and recovered arms, including two AK-47 rifles, and various mobile phones.

In Gwoza Local Government Area, eight terrorists and their families surrendered. In Konduga Local Government Area, two suspects were apprehended with 52 bags of illicit drugs intended for terrorists.

Additionally, in Taraba, the chairman of the Gassol Local Government Area Hunters’ Association, Alhaji Adamu Tanko, was arrested for selling an AK-47 rifle to a suspected terrorist. The weapon was recovered during a joint operation in Boki Lamba.

In Plateau State, the Army detained two suspected criminals in the Rikkos area of Jos North Local Government Area and seized a fabricated rifle and mobile phones with images of various arms and ammunition.

Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff, praised the troops for their dedication and effectiveness.
