Sunday Igboho Is Not Educated, Can He Lead Educated Yoruba People? (See This)

This argument ensued yesterday. “Igboho is not educated and can’t possibly lead educated Yoruba people”.

I just concluded the Yoruba are not then educated in the real sense of education.🤷🏽‍♂️

What’s Being Educated? Or, What’s Education?🤔

Education can be giving and receiving a set of instructions, systematically arranged in a formal settings like schools and other types of settings. Why we have formal and informal education and the ability to be enlightened through experience is getting education.

Now, to be able to speak English and write it down is not education, but being literate in the British language called English.

Does A leader Need Education To Lead?

Yes. A leader needs a wealth of experience and thought process in whatever language his society would understand to lead.

Sunday Igboho o gbo’yinbo, yes, ko gbo to Prof. Wole Soyinka, a Nobel Laureates in literature. However, SI and WS speak Yoruba language, it means they can interact. Moreover, SI is gonna lead Yoruba people and not British.

Going further, stop confusing brilliance for wisdom. A leader needs wisdom, ordinary people like me need intelligence more. Ire o!

MY THOUGHTS:

I once made a post on this topic. I assumed that Sunday is an Illiterate and cannot lead the Yoruba Nation, but I was wrong. My apologies.🙏🏾

Indeed, to be able to speak English and write it down is not education, but being literate in the British language called English. But not a criteria for good leadership. A leader needs a wealth of experience and thought process in whatever language his society would understand to lead.

CR7 does not speak English eloquently.

Messi doesn’t. Several other public figures don’t even understand or speak English language, yet we see nothing wrong with that. We follow, listen and watch them always.

In fact, I think we all should fall back to out local dialect at some point.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho should normalize addressing their people in Igbo and Yoruba language.

After all, the Attorney General of Nigeria, Abubakar Malami, while addressing a press conference on MNK, abandoned the country’s official language to speak in Hausa. That says a lot. #MyTake

How about you? What’s your take on this?
