In a devastating accident on Wednesday night, a middle-aged woman and her two daughters lost their lives when they were struck by a trailer in the Apake area of Ogbomosho. The victims, identified as Kudirat and her daughters, Mariam, 13, and Azeezat, 10, were reportedly returning home from their shop when the tragic incident unfolded.
Eyewitnesses report that the family was on a commercial motorcycle, heading toward their residence in the Nana River/Atenda area around 11 p.m., when a trailer rammed into them. Sadly, the impact was fatal, and all three victims died at the scene. Their bodies have been transported to a local morgue.
A source from the town disclosed that both the motorcyclist and the trailer driver escaped the incident unharmed. “The three were brutally crushed, but the motorcyclist survived unhurt,” the source said. “The trailer driver fled the scene and, despite attempts to pursue him, managed to escape.”
Attempts by *Daily Post* to reach Oyo State’s Federal Road Safety Corps Sector Commander, Rosemary Alo, for comment were unsuccessful as of Friday.
This incident has cast a somber mood over the community, with residents calling for stricter safety regulations and justice for the family.
