Give Northern governors national awards, lawmaker tells Tinubu

smart Adeyemi, the senator for Kogi West, has urged Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, to award Northern governors the National Merit Award for their valiant efforts in transferring control within the All Progressives Congress from the North to the South.

He claimed that after the APC had won, some of them sat down and thought about how they had come to win, noting the significant part that the Northern governors had played.

On Wednesday, Senator Adeyemi said the APC as a whole must thank the Northern states who reached a consensus while speaking to journalists in Abuja.

The best presidential candidate Nigeria has ever produced emerged as a result of the decision, according to him. He described the candidate as having “a good history, a reputation for not being sentimental, a great strength of character, intelligence, a man who is cerebral and highly mobile, a man with a great record of service to God and humanity.”

“We have to commend Northern governors because no matter how excellent a building is, you would have to look at the foundation,” Adeyemi said after congratulating the president-elect.

The Northern governors came to the conclusion that the presidency should be divided between the North and the South, which is how our candidate, the new president, and his vice president got this far.

The Northern leaders, he continued, “deserve a National Merit Award for what they have accomplished. What would have happened to Nigeria if the North had insisted on fielding a candidate? Only God knows. I consider the current governor of the North to be the new Sardauna, the ruler of the Northern area.

When I talk about Sardauna, I do so in the context of his attributes, his leadership of the ethnically and tribally varied North, and the fact that we still have monuments to his accomplishments everywhere.

“What makes an effective leader is to have a big heart and be considerate of other people,” Senator Adeyemi continued. The Northern leaders have today demonstrated to the entire world why they are this generation’s Sardauna. The only way to make amends for them is for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to present National Merit Awards to all the Northern leaders who united and demanded that power be transferred to the South.

“The role of Northern governors at that convention will be an essential part of it whenever the history of this dispensation is told. It will be said that the North, in their wisdom, united and urged a transfer of authority to the South.

The legislator also strayed into the subject of the election body’s postponed results.

“Those crying foul over the election results published by INEC had planned to hack the INEC server and spent a lot of money on that,” he said.

He claimed that when Tinubu Shettima is elected, the nation will look back and praise God because he will “make Nigeria very prosperous.”
