Buju Benson has declared that his now deleted tweet which he claimed he spat in a police officer’s face as an idiomatic expression to say he disrespected a police officer to his face.He noted that it was not the literal meaning of what he said,as the social media community have misunderstood him.

He further noted that he will never support any abuse or violence against the police but he had lashed out at them because he was in a life threatening situation due to physical assault on him by some police officers.

The singer appreciated some reputable policemen who intervened on the matter and further asked that the now deleted tweet shouldn’t be used against him.
