MTV Base will once again partner with alcoholic brand, Breezer, to “open up the industry” as they once again travel to four major cities in South Africa to scout the next best and biggest local talent to join the youth brand through their popular MTV Base VJ Search.
Tshego, the previous season’s winner, is concluding his year at MTV Base by hosting the nationwide MTV Base VJ Search that helped propel emerging talent such as Sizwe Dhlomo, Vanessa Mdee, Sandile Ntshingila, Ehizojie Okoeguale, Nomuzi Mabena and Fikile “Fix” Moeti.
According to MTV, Tshego has spent the past year doing experiential work across a number of functions with the opportunity to understand and obtain a behind the scenes view of the television networks’ day-to-day activities.
“In less than a month he was positioned in front of MTV Base audiences as a co-host of entertainment trends show NewsIsh joining fellow brand VJs Kim Jayde Robinson, Farieda ‘Pharoafi’ Metsileng and Sandile Ntshingila,” stated MTV Base in a statement.
Within three months, he was assigned his own show, titled ‘MTV Base Top 30’ where he hosted the leading music charts of each week and also travelled the country, interacting with the who’s who of the entertainment industry including US music stars Swizz Beatz and Migos, Nigerian chart topper Niniola and local musicians Nadia Nakai, Kwesta, Babes Wodumo, Nasty C and Distruction Boyz to name a few.
“I have definitely learned immensely from this journey, the experience at MTV Base has proved to me that it’s worth following your dreams. Everything I thought of and had faith in came about and I learned that when you get here you’ll always need to get to the next stratosphere of life. While living my life in colour, I am ready to transcend my talent and brand into the next level of the modern day gentlemen,” said Tshego in a statement.
