The cause of the Days Creek Fire is under investigation.

(CANYONVILLE, Ore.) – Days Creek FireFour Type 2 helicopters and one Type 1 helicopter have been working on the fire, in addition to two large air tankers and two single-engine air tankers.

Equipment and personnel from industrial landowners, industrial operators and the Umpqua National Forest are assisting with suppression efforts.

The permit is required for all non-motorized boats 10 feet and longer and replaces the Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Prevention Permit.

(SWEET HOME, Ore.) – Lewis Creek ParkThe crash occurred about 2:00 p.m., while many were in the swimming area at Lewis Creek Park on Foster Lake east of Sweet Home.

A 23-year old male was operating the personal watercraft in the area when he lost control and the watercraft sped off toward shore striking several people with the worst injuries to two minor children.

(SALEM, Ore.) – Salem OregonSalem Police detectives were in their vehicle after conducting an investigation when an unknown vehicle drove up next to the detectives and several shots were fired at the detectives’ vehicle.

One of the bullets penetrated the car, striking a detective in the arm.

Oregon reports 218 new confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases, 5 new deaths

(PORTLAND, Ore.) – COVID-19Oregon Health Authority reported 218 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19 bringing the state total to 10,605.

An outbreak of 22 cases of COVID-19 has been reported at Columbia River Processing in Morrow County. The cases include all persons linked to the outbreak, which may include household members and other close contacts to an employee.

For the week, the national average remains at $2.18 a gallon. The Oregon average adds two cents to $2.61.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) – national gas pricesDrivers who hit the road for Independence Day found pump prices were about 60 cents a gallon cheaper than last year. The national average was the cheapest for the holiday since 2004 and the Oregon average was at its cheapest since 2016.

A few states also saw prices jump due to fuel tax increases on July 1. This includes California, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, South Carolina and Maryland.

Several other officers arrived on scene and learned that this same group of white people had been taunting and challenging a family of black persons by yelling racial slurs at them, insulting them and using Nazi salutes towards them.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) – COVID-19OHA released its Weekly Testing Summary today, which showed that for the week of 6/28-7/5, 39,914 tests were conducted. Of those tests 5.3 percent were positive.

The Oregon Health Authority reported 168 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19 bringing the state total to 10,395 cases.

A 4th of July ride in Eastern Oregon turned deadly for one Oregon man.

(WASCO COUNTY, Ore.) – Harley-DavidsonA Harley-Davidson rider was killed in a crash Saturday, July 4th, near milepost 38 on Hwy 197 in Wasco County.

The riders were slowing to turn left onto Juniper Flat Rd., however, he was apparently unable to stop and crashed, avoiding the other motorcycles.

Accused murderer Salman Khan is on the run and is wanted by police.

(Peshawar, PAKISTAN) – Nadeem JosephNadeem Joseph bought a house in Swati Phatak, TV Colony in Peshawar on June 4. Just a few days later, Salman Khan and his sons set upon Nadeem and his mother-in-law Elizabeth Masih, spraying them with bullets and leaving Nadeem in critical condition.

Mr. Joseph was admitted to the hospital after the brutal attack, but died June 29th, 2020 after multiple surgeries.
