Seven Killed As Amotekun Operatives Clash With Gunmen In Oyo
Several people have been confirmed dead as operatives of the Oyo State Security Network, Amotekun clashed with some gunmen in Aiyete area, Ibarapa North LGA of the state.
According to reports, the clash occurred in Okebi village on Saturday morning which led to violence and chaos in the area.
According to an eyewitness, several houses were also burned down and over seven people have been confirmed dead.
Olayinka Olayanju, the commandant of Amotekun in Oyo state, informed newsmen that he was on his way to the affected area to ascertain the cause of the clash when contacted.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Office, Olugbenga Fadeyi, disclosed that the DPO at Aiyete Police Division had moved to the community to assess the situation.
