Ground troops of the Nigerian Army, supported by fighter jets of the Nigerian Air force (NAF), have launched a major operation against top commanders of the ISWAP terrorist group and their fighters.

The attack on the terrorists led to the elimination of top commanders of the international terrorist organization terrorizing Nigeria.

Reports reaching Information Nigeria said troops under Operation Hadim Kai, OPHK, launched surprise attacks on the terrorist in Bama Axis of Sambisa Forest.

The spokesperson for the Joint team said, “The Nigerian Army initiated the operation after actionable intelligence provided precise locations of the terrorist Commanders and their foot soldiers.

“The ground troops succeeded in shelling rockets targeting several hideouts and enclaves of the commanders and their fighters.

“The NAF Super Tucano aircraft bombarded fleeing terrorists in boats, while several other fighters were drowned at a river in Gabchari.

“By yesterday morning (Saturday) at least we have counted over 100 dead bodies of the terrorists during the clearance and mopping-up operations,” the source said.

When contacted on Sunday, a NAF spokesperson told Information Nigeria that he was in a church service but restated the ongoing military operation.

“We have up-scaled our joint military operations in that axis. I will get back after the church service, please,” he told our correspondent.
